The BC Enduro Series held its fourth of six races this past weekend on the Sunshine Coast. The event was a huge success attracting riders of all skill levels to come out and enjoy the race. Spread over two days to allow racers to cover a lot of different trails, some of which had never been ridden before, put a lot of smiles on riders' faces.
Brendan Fairclough visited the Schladming Park in Austria to test ride his new Scott Gambler 710 and put it through its paces on trails that are the furthest thing from the smooth and buff jumps and berms that bike parks have become known for. Beyond just smashing through whoop sections and rutted out corners at top speed, Brendan still manages to squeeze in his signature style on high-stakes gaps and large kickers that throw him into loose chutes. We feel sorry for his suspension!
Sam Pilgrim, the defending FMB World Tour champion shows us how it's done in this awesome new slopestyle edit. Pilgrim displays a number of new tricks that are dialed in and ready to be thrown down in competition this year.
Jackson Goldstone shows us how it's done as he rips up A-Line at the Whistler Bike Park. This 10 year old shredder has already shown that he can keep up with the big boys at the Woodward West MTB Park and now displays some style and flow on his DH bike.
The third round of the BC Enduro Series presented by Norco Bikes took place on June 28th at the Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park in Kelowna, B.C. More than 80 racers came out to participate and with support from TBS Bike Parts and Sovereign Cycle, the race was a hit and so was the post-race BBQ and beers. Thanks to all who came out to make the event such a success.
The Colorado Freeride Festival is coming to the Trestle Bike Park this weekend in Winter Park, Colorado. This will be the first FMB World Tour event in North America this year and will be featuring many top name riders from around the world. The Panorama Mountain Bike Park is located just outside of Invermere, B.C. and has been a well established bike park since the early 2000's. Mountain bikers from around the globe have been attracted to come and ride the mixture of natural and man-made terrain. Here's a short video of a newly improved trail as well as some photos displaying other improvements made for this season.
The Acatenango Volcano, located in Guatemala, is home to some astonishing landscapes and very diverse terrain. Watch this video of three time world champion Fabien Barel as he and his partner spend 10 days climbing 3,976m up the volcano, then turn around and shred back down.
The Swatch Prime Line slopestyle event is set to take place in Munich, Germany this Saturday, July 19th. This FMB Gold event features 24 riders from 12 different nations and introduces a unique contest format. Each of the 16 finalist will be grouped in fours and will complete two runs head to head with one another. The winner of each grouping will then have two more runs to impress the judges and earn top spot. The course itself is set to have some huge features and will surely be a contest worth watching!
